Johnny
Johnny was a sixteen years old lad
He lived in a basement with his mum
She gave him everything he wanted
But sometimes he became mad
When he saw another boy of his age with a girlfriend
He felt as he was stabbed with a knife
‘cause there wasn’t a gall in his life
Just someone to hold his hand
One night Johnny and I, we were together on a square
And I could see him thinking about love
By the way he was looking to the doves
By the way he was fiddling with his hair
He told me he wouldn’t seek anymore
For a girl that wants to be his bride
He said: I will ask every chick if I can take her for a ride
I will find what I’m looking for

Johnny don’t look trough a keyhole
It is telling you a lie
You must look through a window
You must stay outside
He was sure about it, that he would get a date
I wouldn’t stop him and we split up that night
I waited till he was out of sight
I bow my head and I was afraid
Afraid that he would make a mess of it
He had no experience at all
In his mind every girl was a doll
And Johnny was just a kid
Well Johnny was a boy in despair
And driven by his fears
He drank too much beer
That he couldn’t find a girl anywhere
Drunk as a wheel barrow he bumped his head
Against a wall he didn’t see
Stunned by the clash he fell on his knees
And the pavement collared red

It was too late when Johnny’s mother found him dead
She couldn’t do anything for her son
She cried and screamed what have you done
Was your life that bad
Two days later I heard what happened that night
I layed down and smoked some weed
And I was wondering if “love is all you need”
Was love the reason Johnny died
